Congratulations to CLC affiliate AFM Local 447-704 on ratifying a new 4 year agreement with some tremendous gains

AFM Local 447-704 is pleased to announce that in October 2014 the musicians of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra ratified a new 4-year successor agreement with HHSO management. The agreement includes wage increases each year, increased travel fees, stronger job protection, improvements in working conditions, and a new section covering leave for FMLA reasons. In addition, we retain all the all the benefits of the previous agreement, including a 9.81% AFM-EPF pension contribution on scale wages; grievance and arbitration; and standard AFM electronic media protection. The negotiations started in March 2014 and concluded with a tentative agreement in September. The musician representatives, aided by AFM negotiator Nathan Kahn, maintained a cordial and mutually beneficial relationship with management throughout the negotiations.
