Savannah Regional CLC Supports Stand Up For Savannah Forum
Saturday, June 1st, 2013

Savannah Regional CLC President Brett A. Hulme was a panelist hearing testimony from Port Drivers on working conditions at the Port of Savannah. In addition, drivers informed of the abuse and exploitation from local trucking companies classifying them as independent contractors. At the same time, setting parameters that can only be enforced on an employee. This "misclassification" puts these drivers in a situation where laws protecting "employees" do not apply and are therefore competing in a race to the bottom in our community. Over 375 Port truckers attended.
